After our initial sketches, we thought that it might be easier to start working digitally as we could take and re-arrange certain parts of the letters.
We began by taking the neutral typeface Monsserat to work off of and then splitting it down the middle to create our two coloured areas. We could then take each letter and split it across one of the paths to find the point at which the two separate parts would connect.
After some experimentation, I produced a system which would then be used to every letter.
We instantly stumbled across some issues on letters that had multiple connection points and points that didn't connect at 90 degrees.
Eventually a finished typeface was produced which would later be used for a poster and a beermats to allow guests to see and understand the purpose of our typeface.
We chose the black, white and red to fit with the rest of the design work for the event night
