We continued with the mannequin idea and mocked up a series of patterns onto mannequins to explain the proposed visuals. Each course would be designated a pattern or design. These patterns could then be displayed together on one mannequin, creating one mannequin that would represent all the diferent courses and disciplines.
These were then mocked up onto a black backgrounds on adverts to let the mannequins take full focus and show how the design would look as a printed design.
It was also suggested to propose an advert for the boards outside of uni. As well as this, we proposed that a mannequin could be displayed on top of the box to catch the eye of the general public. We wanted to show how the concept could easily translate from printed to 3d advertisements.
The design would then adjust for other purposes, like emails:
We began exploring some of our initial ideas with way finding and mocked up limbs with patterns on them to explain how the concept would work with this
Mannequin arms could be used to point guests in the direction of a certain area of the uni, or hold signs and end of year show books.
We believe that this 3 dimensional concept is much more engaging than simply printing it. It would be a much more memorable experience due to how unusual it is.
