Studio Brief 2: Initial Ideas

For Studio Brief 2 we have been set to investigate the term/concept/value/number 100 by collecting, recording, documenting, categorising information around a random word, which we are given. We must collect:

20 facts
20 opinions
20 words
20 statistics
20 photographs

We have to consider how we can translate, manipulate and process our information with the context of "100".

The word I have been given is "mascot". The definition of "mascot" is:

"a person or thing that is supposed to bring good luck, especially one linked to a particular organisation or event."

Below is my initial mind-map of the word "mascot":
Mascots can have many uses. For example:

Sports team mascot - created to excite sports fans and sell merchandise.

Cereal mascot -  created to excite and interest children who will then want to buy their cereal.

Computer software mascot - created to have a friendly way to get help if stuck and cause less stress.

Political mascots - created as a symbol to represent a certain party, often with other connotations.

The definition of mascot interests me as well.

'A person or thing that is supposed to bring good luck, especially one linked to a particular organisation or event.'

I may consider researching other objects and actions that are considered lucky or unlucky. This is a topic which I find quite interesting and which would have a lot of research and opinions behind it.
