Studio Brief 2: Logo Research

I found a book of Logo designs and found it interesting looking at the logos without looking at what it was for. This way I could establish whether it is an effective, eyecatching logo and see why. Afterwards I looked at what they were for and decided whether I thought they were appropriate.

The logo below is interesting and eye-catching. I would guess the logo is for a shopping market of some sort. The building looking like a bag is a bland concept but it does intrigue the audience at first sight. The 3D aspect of the design ads more depth and weight to it.

The logo below is very simplistic. The thick line stroke creates quite a lot of impact. The company's brand is not clear through this logo. The black and white looks a bit scary with the love heart symbol.
Negative space logos are always very engaging to an audience. It is an extra way that the audience can interact with the design. Sometimes it is done perfectly. Unfortunately I believe it looks a bit forced here.
This logo is has a rough hand-rendered look that goes well with the illustrations.
It's interesting to see how the logo is used as part of the brand and used in different colours and on different mediums.
I found that the logo below is very unbalanced and bland. The negative space looks nice, but the letter being used is not clear
This logo has too many connotations of pac-man so I found it hard to think what else the company might be for even with the type.
The company here is not made particularly clear. They may be involved with technology. The mixture of type doesn't make the company look very informal, but the very accurate logo gives the brand a corporate look.
This Punica logo is obviously for a fruit juice or sweet and the bubble type and bright colours is very appropriate for the company. The outline around the text gives the logo a sticker look and makes the design pop even more.
