Studio Brief 1: Design Process

One of the synonyms that came up when brainstorming the word "Method", was "Process". This made me think of the design process and how it is often visualised as a diagram like the one seem below. The idea is that you start at a point with nothing but a design problem or task, then you research, discover and experiment, then you refine what you have learnt to create a concept and experiment with your designs until you refine them to one final design.

Looking at the characteristics of the diagram I chose to experiment with my font to see if I could create letter forms that show a distinct starting point, which gets gains a thicker stroke near the middle and then come to a final point. You can see my experimentations below.

The 2nd sketch was a variety of ideas I was playing with, although they were all trying to convey the same "design process" theme.

I made a rough digital version of my 1st sketch to see how it would look. In my opinion it looks very unbalanced, although there are aspects of it that work.
