Design Principles: Font Family, Final Designs

Regular

The font that I started with originally was Futura. I cut into the letterforms to make a change in the line weight instead of Futuras consistent thick lines. I then added serifs, as again, it is completely diferent to the sans-serif Futura. There are still some signs that the original font was Futura, but of you didn't know, you wouldn't be able to spot them.

Italic
Bold

For the bold part of my font family, I chose to get rid of the variety in line weight look that I originally had. It resembles Futura a lot more so here, but the slab serifs bring a new look to the letterforms.
Light
I wanted to light letterforms to be as thin as I could make them whilst still being legible. I shortened the serifs as they seemed to distract too much attention away from the forms and make them less legible.
