Studio Brief 4: Ticket Design

To research the design of the ticket for my tattoo festival, I looked at some of the other festival, cinema, travel, football tickets I had collected over the years. All but one are landscape designs with a tearable edge. In terms of type hierarchy, the name of the event is seen first, followed by secondary information (type of ticket, location, date/time).
All the tickets use a series of electronic fonts for the information that is unique to each ticket. (barcodes, name of buyer, address).
The ticket I tok the most inspiration from, was the Reading music festival ticket as it seemed like the most relatable festive to my own.
I chose to use a font called 'Dekar' which has the same geometric, electronic style as the fonts used on other tickets. I chose to use predominantly red for my ticket to have as much impact as possible. This makes it stand out and become very noticeable from a distance. I was toying with the idea of adding a silhouetted of a tattoo gun to the ticket, but felt that it was too crowded and was unnecessary. The negative space makes the logo stand out even more.
