Shortlist Magazine
Large, Capital letters, block font, centre aligned. This is the first piece of type that is read/noticed on the page.
2nd largest piece of type, similar to the prior piece of type because of its thick line weight and colour. The readers eye is looking for similar type.
Still looking for similar type, the readers eye is lead towards another piece of large black text. The closest piece of type is this thin line weight text.
As the readers eye is brought back to the top of the page, it notices the title which is quite large, but not the correct colour to stand out at the start.
The next pieces of type that are read are the blue names that are above these pieces of text. The fact it is blue and larger than the small text, makes it stand out.
The eye is then drawn towards the next piece of blue text which is the small blue text over to the right
Lastly, the body text is all thats left to read.
Stylist Magazine
The first noticeable piece of type is ridiculously large 'Sale' which takes up a third of the page. The main reason it stands out is its colour and size. The readers eye is then drawn towards the second largest piece of type, underneath the sale.
The readers eye is then drawn towards the large logo at the top-centre of the page.
On the second page, the first piece of body text that is seen stands out because of the bright pink border which surrounds it in the centre of the page.
The page features a series of quotes that stand out because of its large, hand-rendered style and its bright colour.
The next piece of body text is also made to stand out with an illuminated letter, also in bright pink.
Huck Magazine
These black boxes create a lot of contrast against the white background and catch the eye of the audience next.
These names have a thick line weight and a lot of white space surrounding it. This helps create contrast against the background just as the black boxes do.
Lastly the body text is the last type read. It's small scale, and large amount of white space surrounding the thin one weighted font doesn't make it stand out.
