Studio Brief 4: Screen Printed Poster

Although I had quite a few issues with the screens not exposing correctly when trying to screen print, I was able to get the result I wanted for my posters. There are a few diferent colour variations, but I stuck with red and black to keep a consistent brand identity. I found that getting the registration and aligning the prints was quite difficult as the colours didn't don't overlap, so I had to be exact.
The design is a variation of the poster from the unfolded leaflet. I added a the address of the festival, and a website name to the poster to make it more of an advert for the festival, to get people around leeds to buy tickets
I found that the alignment of colours on a lot of the prints was slightly off. It was very hard to line them up, but it gives the prints more of an obvious hand-made look. Feedback from others on the course showed that this caused the text to look 3D and actually stand out more.
I am happy with the outcome. If i had more time I would like to have screen printed my whole leaflet to keep a consistent handmade theme running throughout my designs. The screen printed poster seems to make the digitally printed leaflet seem a bit more tacky when compared to each other.
